- 40 British pounds£40
THE COURSE Learn to sculpt with oil-based Monster Clay and make a wonderful dragon head. We'll go through simple steps to bring your fantastical creature to life, showing you how to use a variety of tools and techniques. SKILL LEVEL This workshop is built for total beginners in mind. A basic understanding of animal/human anatomy is a bonus, however, a strong imagination and a great passion to learn is a must! If you're unsure, please get in touch first. We’re limited to 8 places at a time, so please book ahead to secure your spot. MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT For the in-person class, all materials and tools are provided, and you’ll be able to take your sculpt home at the end. If you’d rather bring your own tools, that's also fine! Please note that Monster Clay does not air-dry and cannot be baked or painted. It will remain as is. But, if you ever feel like it, it can be melted down and reused for a new sculpt! For the online class, you will be given a materials list that you will need to source yourself. The class Sculpting Kits are not yet available for purchase, but will be in the future. YOUR INSTRUCTORS These classes are taught by Verity Filipow and Frank Harper- two sculptors and Puppet Makers at Aardman Animations. Verity has a bachelor's degree from UAL Wimbledon in Technical Arts and Special Effects, and Frank has a bachelor's degree from UWE Bristol in Animation. Both Verity and Frank have been sculpting for over 15 years, and their resumes consist of not only Aardman films and TV, but live action special effects and prosthetics in film, as well as advertising for big name high-street clients. CreatureCave is the online home of Verity’s creatures and character dolls, and has been an exciting ongoing journey for the past 7 years. NOTES This class is to learn traditional/physical sculpture, not digital. This class is offered in-person and online. Please check the calendar that you are booking the right session.
